Norfolk is an amazing place.
Its beautiful, has a varied landscape, some of the greatest skies you'll ever see, deep starry nights, every type of weather and, more importantly, every type of person you could ever ask for.
Norfolk folk are inherently simple, which is what gives them their charm.
This morning, while mincing up towards the Forum to do some work on my portfolio, I overheard the funniest conversation. But what made it more impressive, was that neither of the participants could see anything unusual about what was said. (Names have been changed to protect the, hopefully, innocent.)
Woman 1) I had lunch with Debby yesterday.
Woman 2) You mean Debby that died?
Woman 1) No, the other Debby.
Woman 2) Which one?
Woman 1) [Pause] Sorry. Not Debby... Paul.
My brother-of-Pedantry, Andrew, will surely have a better example of the simpleness of the Norfolk mind, but that's my observation from this morning.
The world is a funny place, if only you look in the right place.
Norfolk.

An old woman
I've been stupidly busy over these last few days/weeks, so have barely had time to get out of bed - but now that things are gradually calming down a bit, I thought I'd take a few minutes while an update is installing on mum's new PC to tell you two funny things.
One) A lady in Tesco this morning asked the lady on the counter if she had the "Sponge Pants Bob" magazine, which made me smile.
Two) On Norwich market, I heard a lady complaining to the greengrocer man that his labels weren't clear enough. When asked what she meant, her reply was "These local strawberries... are they English or not? It doesn't say..."
That made me smile too.

Long time no speak...
Well, hello there.
Firstly, an apology. I had no idea just how many people were 'following' me, until a sudden surge of people who've emailed me recently asking whether I'd be posting anything else. Well, the answer is 'yes', but I'm not sure how much at the moment, as things are pretty hectic.
A lot has happened since my last update, and its all been good.
I'm now nearly 6 months into the 3 year pathway of becoming a Paramedic, and with any luck I should be qualified some time in 2012.
That really has to be it for this update I'm afraid, but I'll try and do some more when anything exciting happens!
Take care,
Matt
